Snow Day, Snow Day, Time to Go Day...

So, I work in Nebraska.  In an office in Nebraska.  In an office with heat, running water, and other such conveniences in Nebraska.  I also have a car that I drive in to get to said office in Nebraska.  My car has heat and a roof to protect me.  Some people are not so lucky I guess.

Here's the situation...  So, yesterday we hear on the news that we are going to get 4-6 inches of snow.  Mind you, we don't get a huge amount of snow in Nebraska.  So our boss graciously comes around and asks if we have things we want to take home to do in case it gets bad or if we just are going to take vacay.  All the office crazies made arrangements....

Wake up this morning--zero snow.  Roads were clear, traffic normal, schools in session, all is well in Omaha.  I come to work.  I then proceed to work.  At about 9 or so it begins to snow--flurry really.  At about 11 a.m. people start packing up and fleeing for their lives.  By noonish, me and my coworker, the Great Organizer are the only two left for the most part.

We start to chat about how the weather isn't too bad and realize that a large portion of our coworkers didn't come in today at all.  Why?  In case it started to snow at some point and they might get hit by a giant, all damaging snowflake?  Because their car is without a roof?  Because it's cold? Total mystery to me and the Great Organizer.

We are sitting at our cozy little desks doing cozy little office things, when we hear the sound of construction outside.  Yes, construction workers facing the sheer destruction of the snow flurry.  Kinda puts it into perspective....  Below is the terrible conditions we are facing...  Don't worry, I took it through the window so as to prevent egregious injury.

Welp, signing off to leave early because....Why not?
